Students Suffer From Lack Of Amenities And Infrastructural Facilities At Sri Eshwar College Of Engineering

Sri Eshwar Engineering College Coimbatore was established in the year 2008 in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The institution claims to be one of the main colleges of engineering but from majority of the reviews, it can be identified that the college hypes up many of its claimed standards. The college itself is an average college with only the basic amenities of an engineering college and their claiming to be a top tier institution is a cover up to increase the admission rate to gain profit.


The infrastructure of the college is average just like a normal engineering college and not anything to fancy about. But seeing it from the outside, they try to keep an image that the college has high end facilities. It is evident from many of the reviews of the students that they had believed this outward modesty shown by the college and took admission. These students were late to identify that all of these claims were hollow.

Sri Eshwar Engineering College has obsolete systems in many of their labs. Students from the CSE department are not even given labs till they reach their final year. Even then they are not able to get proper practical knowledge due to the outdated software of many of the systems. The management reduces giving practical lessons instead of changing the outdated systems in the labs.

The other infrastructural facilities of Sri Eshwar College of Engineering like auditoriums, classrooms, seminar halls, sport grounds also stand on an average level without nothing much to hype about. The hostel facilities of the college is also poor and many students opt out of staying in the hostel after their first year and take places to stay outside the campus due to lack of facilities.

Most of the facilities in general are average and the college takes not much effort to clear it as well. This have been a major repercussion for the students of Sri Eshwar College of Engineering.

A distressing incident of ragging at PSG College of Technology in Coimbatore has come to light through a First Information Report (FIR), revealing harrowing details of the victim’s ordeal. The victim, a second-year undergraduate student in a government-aided institution, was reportedly locked up in a room for approximately five hours by eight fellow students in the college hostel. The incident occurred on November 6 when the eight students entered the victim’s room around 11.30 p.m., berating him for allegedly not contributing money to seniors for purchasing alcohol. Subsequently, they forcibly took him to room 401 on the fourth floor of the hostel, locking the door from inside.
